Your're An Eagle - poem

you're an eagle but you thought you're a chicken
you lived with the chicken and grew to be like them
you didn't know you could fly, you just hopped like the rest

then you met someone who knew your true identity
the someone helped you gain confidence learning to fly
the someone encouraged you when you felt weak

there're times you felt discouraged 'cos your wings couldn't spread
then the someone went beneath you to support your wings
the someone became the wind to help your wings fly

you have finally took your first flight though still not steady
but the someone has to let you go so you could fly on your own
with no string attached you shall soar higher and higher

now the someone watches you fly with tears in the eyes
tears of joy to see that you have finally learnt to fly
tears of pain as the string has to be cut in order for you to fly

all the someone wishes is you fly high towards your dreamland
that you never turn back to be like the chicken again
that you shall live happily ever after till the end
