Change my heart - poem

It's pretty clear what I must do
to stop myself from suffering too.
Yet each time I give it another try,
then it disappoints me and I ask "why"?

I cannot change anyone except myself.
If I cannot change myself, who else?
Only God can change me by changing my heart
to love Him with all I am like from the start.
