Farewell - poem

farewell, my dearest friend
sorry we are just not meant to be
just like what i said from the start
we are so different, an unlikely pair

yet you maintained we can be
and you will love me till the end
you will wait for me for the longest time
all you want from me is i love you so

i have given you the chance to prove your love
i have given us the chance to take the challenge
yet you can't keep your promise to love and wait
though i kept mine promise to love and care

thanks for the short but sweet memories
which i will bury them in eternity
henceforth we are just friends
that's what we are meant to be
