One-Day Charity Mission

Just got home from the Charity Mission Trip last night at about 11 pm. Though it's only a 1-day trip it's quite tiring for all of us... but rewarding of course. :)

I was asked to share a simple message with the villagers at the last minute, when we were boarding the ferry. Hmmn... that would be my first time doing it. Not only that, I was asked to share it in dialect so that another person could interpret it into their local language initially. Erm, hmn... I hardly converse in dialect for a long time. Even if I do, it won't be for sharing anything from the bible. Well, I managed to make a compromise... sharing it in English for another person to interprete it into their local language. *sigh of relief*

I decided to share the passage from my Friday devotion, What Matters Most. I shared the story from the whole of chapter 9 about the blind man. My interpreter was also doing it for the first time, so we kind of fumbled here and there (like the blind man). Yet God touched the hearts of the listeners and many of them wanted to believe in Jesus, just like the blind man in the story. Even the pastor's wife was moved to tears. Wow! That's the work of God, not mine. :)

I personally was touched to see that the villagers were so 'hungry' to know more about Christ and to experience Him. I also felt honoured that God could use my humble sharing to move others. Praise God!

I shall post some pictures here later when I have time... very late now, need to zzzzzzzz

Celebrate Christmas In Singapore

Some of you already know that I am involved in the Choir* for the Celebrate Christmas In Singapore (at Orchard). Well, the program will start tomorrow... so fast ya.

From 16th to 25th Dec 2005, exciting events have been planned every evening at Orchard Road in Singapore. The stretch of road, from Orchard MRT Station to Paragon, will be blocked from traffic for the parade of floats on the 16th, to the Grand Concert and Street Celebration on Orchard Road itself on 25th... the birth of Jesus will be presented in attractive and meaningful ways. VIPs from Singapore and other countries will be there to grace the events too.

Highlights of the events include the following:

Christmas Celebration Village
Singing Christmas Tree (Ngee Ann City)*
Stage Performances
Foreign Tribal and Ethnic Groups
Parade of Floats
Grand Christmas Concert on Orchard Road

*The "Singing Christmas Tree", which consists of a 70-members Choir each night by various Churches in Sinagpore and from overseas, will bring back fond memories of the 1st singing Christmas Tree held on vacant ground prior to the construction of Ngee Ann City.

You will receive the full program booklet when you step into Orchard Road, any night between 16 to 25 Dec 05.

Oh, I won't be singing every night... just one of the nights... hehe. See if you can guess which night I will be singing. :P I will also be involved in doing other volunteer works as well on a different night.

I will be going with my friends to Orchard Road tomorrow night for walk walk... See you. :)
